Diamonds/ Monocrystalline/ Industrial Diamonds

Our blocky but well cutting diamonds are common in the industrial technology in grinding-, lapping and polishing processes.
The diamond shows a monocrystalline lattice structure, the slidings are parallel to the optical axis.

CBN Black (cubic boron nitride)

Cubic boron nitride (CBN) is, after the synthetic diamond, the second hardest material and will be synthesized from hexagonal boron nitride under conditions similar to the ones of production of synthetic diamond of graphite. Desirable properties of an abrasive are big hardness, thoughness, abrasion resistance, thermical and chemical stability as well as the ability during use to keep the sharp cutting edges.

Hardness is a crucial property for every abrasive. However, most of the abrasives suffer under high temperatures during application a hardness loss.
